After six years of dedicated leadership, Danielle DiLeo Kim recently announced her decision to step down as President & CEO of PHILADELPHIA250. Danielle’s last day is January 10th. Danielle’s
vision, passion, and dedication during her tenure have strengthened the organization and elevated PHILADELPHIA250’s mission to activate, celebrate and transform our neighborhoods for the 250th
anniversary of the country in 2026.

Under Danielle’s leadership, PHILADELPHIA250 developed strategic frameworks for a neighborhood-based approach to the country’s Semiquincentennial commemoration in Philadelphia and secured crucial cross-sector stakeholder support at many levels. Danielle leaves
PHILADELPHIA250 having established the organization as an integral and vital partner to the neighborhoods of Philadelphia as they prepare to have a material role in the Semiquincentennial. Important community legacy projects, participatory Committees, and civic engagement programs
were conceived and implemented under her leadership. Danielle leaves a strong blueprint for PHILADELPHIA250 to make Philadelphia’s participation in America’s 250th equitable, inclusive, and beneficial to every Philadelphian.

“We are deeply grateful to Danielle for her vision, passion and dedication to positioning PHILADELPHIA250 for success,” said former Governor Edward G. Rendell, Chair of the Board of Directors. “While we will miss her enthusiastic leadership, we wish her well as she transitions to the next phase of her award-winning career, including her role as President of the American Institute of Architects Philadelphia Chapter.”

As we transition leadership, Philadelphia250 remains excited about 2026 and the opportunities to deliver on our “by the people, for all people” mission of a citywide celebration in 2026.
